Clearlight Yoga Shala Now Offering 200 and 500-Hour Teacher Training Programs

Clearlight Yoga Shala is dedicated to serving the Metro-Detroit community with both the classical and tantric (secret) teachings of Yoga.  We emphasize that it is possible to reach the ultimate goal of yoga in this lifetime, which is called kai -val -yam.  Kaivalyam means to reach the endlessly blissful state of an enlightened being who can help countless others.  We offer daily yoga classes, workshops,  a 200-hour yoga teacher training, massage therapy & destination retreats.

Clearlight means to percieve ultimate reality directly.

Yoga is the 5,000 year-old practice of physical, ethical, mental, and spiritual disciplines for enlightenment.

Shala is the Sanskrit word for a school dedicated to serving the community.

Yoga is not another religion or exercise routine.  It is an ancient science of physical, mental, and spiritual health that focuses on:

\     Ethical living

\     Building relationships that support spiritual growth

\     Overcoming addictions

\     A healthy diet

\     Positive thinking

\     Embracing hardships to reach higher goals

\     Studying spiritual books and ancient texts

\     Learning directly from a qualified teacher

\     Daily practice of postures and proper breathing

\     Making spiritual practice a priority

\     A firm understanding of karma and pure-potential

\     Meditation and enlightenment

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the 'Universe', a part limited in time and space.  He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.  This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest to us.  Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

  -Albert Einstein
